I came to the U.S. at age 11 from the Dominican Republic. I was inspired by my parents to work hard and pursue an education. However, I was not taught about personal finance at home or in school, and had to learn a lot about financial independence the hard way. 

 

I became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional to help others pursue their goals, and because of that, I am an advocate for keeping financial planning simple. 

 

When I am not working on the On My Way to Wealth  blog or podcast, I stay busy as the owner of a financial planning and investment management firm, Build a Better Financial Future, a co-founder of the DEI initiative to increase minority presence in the financial field called The BLX Internship,where I co-host the Diversity in Action(™) Podcast, and the founder of the LatinXcellence Movement.

 

I currently live in Southern California with my wife, Alison. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, walking on the beach, or eating at one of my favorite vegan restaurants in the Los Angeles area.
